The Director of Regulatory Affairs supports the organization by navigating regulatory affairs that affect the Company’s patients, clinicians, and practices. This position requires a strategic thinker with an understanding of legislative activities and regulatory affairs. The Director of Regulatory Affairs assists with researching and interpreting federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in the areas of policy development and an ability to assist in advocacy efforts on behalf of the Company while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Additionally, the Director of Regulatory Affairs assists with interpreting regulatory guidance affecting the organization’s Compliance and Privacy Programs. 

Responsibilities

  • Monitors legislative and regulatory activities to assist in the development of advocacy strategies.
  • Acts as a liaison between internal stakeholders and lobbyists to coordinate the Company’s Government Affairs initiatives related to Medicare, Medicaid, and healthcare insurance regulation.
  • Collaborates with policymakers to address payor-related issues and stay informed about new healthcare payment models that could impact patient care and revenue.
  • Collaborates with policymakers at the state and federal levels to identify advocacy opportunities for our physicians and practitioners to impact policy.
  • Monitors pending legislation and intervenes when necessary to protect company interests.
  • Stays informed about pending legislation, analyzing its potential impact on company goals and strategies.
  • Regularly reviews federal and state regulatory publications to provide insights on their relevance to Company operations.
  • Conducts research on regulatory language, offering recommendations to address compliance challenges and inform business decisions.
  • Supports the Compliance Program by facilitating the implementation of new and updated regulatory changes through the development of policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates closely with the Legal Department in response to compliance concerns and regulatory inquiries.
  • Assists in the creation of business associate agreements and the assessment of vendor relationships to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Monitors the effects of regulatory changes on the Company’s business practices, providing timely updates and recommendations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Law school graduate with 5-7 years of experience working in the areas of regulatory compliance and regulatory affairs.

 

  • In-depth understanding of relevant government regulations.
  • Skilled in briefing managers and department leaders on necessary regulatory compliance and policies.
  • Outstanding capabilities in both written and oral communication.
  • Strong analytical abilities and adeptness in solving complex problems.
  • Proficient in strategic planning and implementation.
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite and comparable software applications.
