Responsibilities

This Accounting Manager will oversee month-end close activities as well as balance sheet account reconciliations, account activity analysis and related journal entries.  Reporting to a senior manager of accounting, the successful candidate will supervise and own a variety of month-end and quarter-end accounting processes. This position requires a person who performs at a high level of accuracy and efficiency, is well organized, and demonstrates ownership and initiative to accomplish goals. In this role, you will be expected to be a key contributor and have exposure to all levels within the organization.

  • Prepare, review, and verify journal entries, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions. Primary responsibility for lease accounting, benefits accounting as well as other month-end close processes.
  • Prepare and review reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. Develop analysis and reports as required.
  • Review and explain financial statement related fluctuations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Support the month-end closing process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Supervise staff in gathering all necessary supporting documentation to produce monthly reporting. 
  • Ensure monthly financial statements are produced in a timely and accurate manner, including adherence to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Contribute to the development of company accounting policies and procedures and ensure compliance with approved policies. Review and streamline processes when appropriate.
  • Provide guidance, training and leadership to direct reports and other associates.
  • Participate in preparing support for disclosures in 10K and 10Q filings.
  • Assist with preparing information for the outside auditors on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Additional duties as required. 

Qualifications

Education/Experience: 

  • Education Required: B.S. in Accounting.
    CPA preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in public accounting or 7 years combined experience in public and corporate accounting
  • SEC and/or healthcare accounting experience preferred. 

Software:

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel 
  • Oracle Cloud ERP for month-end close.
